I currently have my jellyfin, sonarr and qbittorrent running all off of one machine. This machine needs torrent obfuscation, which means a VPN.
I’m currently using Nordvpn which doesn’t support port forwarding which would help with a myriad of things. But most immediately this would help with my qbit setup. Whats everyones go to choice of VPN. Must haves are no logs and port forwarding.
I use protonVPN and I like it
+1. Made the switch when mullvad lost port forwarding. Works quite well with Gluetun
Looks nice and cheap, do you have any insight into the CPU cost of protonVPN? This is a miniPC and i often find Nord Being a bit of a resource hog

people like to shit on PIA. but they still support port forwarding.
I’ve been using PIA for years now. Never had an issue.
I mean thats not an immediate red flag. it looks affordable. What do people not like about it?
It was purchased a while ago by a less than reputable company. But the service was court tested no log. I’ve not had issue… but the risk could still be there that they’ve started logging.
Edit: Can always set an exit point in another country so that its unlikely that logs can be pulled regardless.
Edit2: oh and its scriptable to grab the port assigned from the pia app and feed it to qbittorent :chef’s kiss:
pia is terrible for privacies for government (five eyes country host), but its a fine budget option for privacy against business (piracy).
its an okay vpn as long as you are fully aware on what youre paying for
I was told AirVPN elsewhere, any thoughts on that one?
I have used it before and yeah, it does work well as long as you use their OVPN/Wireguard configuration instead of theit client. They’re also very cheap during the sale.
I use it and it works great except their eddie client is kinda garbage (at least on Windows) so I switched to using Wiresock on Windows and then later gluetun after setting up a Linux machine.
Please stop with this false claim torrenting requires port forwading, it doesnt, this has been debunked many times.
