Hey, apologies if this is a duplicate post - my search foo is pretty bad nowadays I think :< - but I wanted to ask how others clean PEI sheets?
I see a lot of rather conflicting information, in particular whether to use cleaning alcohol or not on it. I intuitively understand Acetone is a no-no, but what about just alcohol? Does that also damage/roughen the surface of the smooth side?
Should I use window cleaner on the smooth side?
Just dishwashing soap to be on the very safe side?
Or is there some specialized PEI cleaner?
Order of cleaners which work on PEI
Water and soap - gets most of what you need off and should be your first choice
Isopropyl Alcohol - is a lot stronger and useful for skin oils use this if your parts aren’t sticking still
Acetone - Only use Acetone if you’ve tried everything else. Acetone disoves the PEI and allows you to resurface the bed. Make sure the bed is cooled before you use it. Do not use nail Polish remover since it can contain sents and oils, check ingredients list. This will reduce the beds life time if too much is used.
