Red flags come in all sizes. A potentially small one is: “I’m not willing to sit through a dumb but harmless movie even though my partner wants to see it.”
A bigger red flag would be “I refuse to see The Barbie Movie because it’s woke!!!”
Well, there’s a certain subset of loud, gullible cretins out there that apply the following tests to see if something is “woke” and they should hate it:
Does it espouse or support anything that’s not hardcore, regressive social “conservatism”? E.g “LGBT people exist” or “sexism is bad.”
Do “the libs” (real or imaginary) like it?
If the answer to any of those 2 questions is “yes”: the thing in question is “woke”. The Barbie Movie is 2 yeses … so apparently it’s “extra woke”.
Refusing to see a movie their partner wants to see with them is a sensible red flag. I think it would be higher if it was phrased generally rather than specifically about Barbie.
If they’re being a dick about it, yes. But surely there’s things that people in a relationship do by themselves or with friends. Couldn’t seeing a movie that your partner doesn’t want to be one of them?
So being enthusiastic to see the Barbie movie is a red flag for you. That doesn’t make sense to me, but hey, I hope you find love in someone that shares your movie preferences.
No, that is not what I said at all. Some movies have people working on them who are, very loudly, spreading dangerous things that are doing very real harm to individuals and society as a whole …things like Q. I would rather not spend money supporting them.
I hope you’re able to see the difference between the two things. Cheers.
Right? It’s a super fun and very funny movie. Knee jerk reactions to a movie about Barbie tells you all you need to know about where the person gets all their opinions fed to them from
You should go to the theater to see that movie (which I’ve never heard of and thus am not promoting) with your girlfriend 3 more times, that’ll show 'em!
Well, caring about that is a red flag by itself.

Yea, especially since the strong negative prejudice against that particular movie has mainly come from sexist reactionary political commentators
Sorry if I’m out of the loop but how the fuck is a girls children movie in anyway woke?

Because it pushes surface level feminism

There’s a reason it’s specifically about Barbie…
I know, it’s a misleading political statement, like the rest of the survey.

Idk man, I’d refuse to go see that Q movie with mine & then stay home to question my life choices regarding relationships.

What is the Q movie?
Sound of Freedom
I think you may have replied to the wrong person. They were talking about the crazy Q movie.
What is this Q movie? Are we talking Q Anon or Q from Trek? Q the segment from CBC with Tom Power?
The barbie movie is awesome I’ve seen it 3 times with my gf . If someone doesn’t like that movie it would be a red flag for me lol .

Only if you are the real Margot Robbie
Of course I am. Now go see that movie a couple more times and tell people how good it is so I can finally get my Oscar this year.
Should I buy it on Blu-ray, iTunes, or both?
All of them, of course!
I have pirated copy on my plex server 🙈 .but I heard that there is going to be a re-release with added scenes in theaters so I want to see that
Don’t pirate
