  • There are things that you shouldn’t do or say to minors that aren’t illegal, but anyone reading them would still know it’s it’s unethical/wrong/immoral/whatever. They clearly thought he crossed that line, enough that they’d rather fire him and take a chance on losing the court case for damages for breaking the contract. And then they lost that court case.

It clearly wasn’t just “a chat with a minor”. The rumors I’ve heard is that he was attempting to make plans to meet up with them at a convention. That would definitely be in the “big no no” category for a celebrity talking to a minor, even if nothing untoward was suggested in that conversation.

  • I finally solved it. Voron KAMP’s Voron Purge technique puts little blobs of filament on the bed. I also have Voron Tap. My tool head was hitting those blobs and moving upwards slightly, causing the extruder not to squish the filament into the bed in the same pattern as the voron logo from the purge.

My solution was to initially to move the purge further way, but that kills large parts of my bed usage. So I just wrote my own purge line script and I’m using that now.

I hope this helps you solve your problem!

Gamesir T4 Kaleid. I love the hall effect joysticks, and it feels like it’s the right size. The one negative is that it’s wired-only.

OTOH, the GameSir Nova (not lite) is hot garbage. I hate almost everything about it, and its wireless PC connection (without the dongle that it does not come with) is trash. It’s basically only good as a Switch controller… And I haven’t even actually tried it for that.

The GameSir Nova Lite is much better, but still too small and you need to use the slightly-older 4200 firmware (from the official app) instead of the latest, because they got stupid about things.

I somewhat like the Xbox Elite V2 controller, but you have to get a good one. A bad one will have really crappy triggers that sometimes won’t work. I think I’ve even heard that the sticks are sometimes wonky. And it’s not hall effect.

  • I think it’s by design, not because they’re stupid. They saw those forks right away and decided to let them get settled in and comfortable, and then removed them. Knowing that the hammer will come down eventually is really demoralizing. Knowing it’ll come down right away means you can test the waters and see how it goes without much personal investment.

  • Yeah, I got that the 150% was a joke. But I think the meat of the uproar wasn’t the joke, but the whole situation of posting this for the community as if it’s an important thing to decide. The joke didn’t help, either, as it shows they weren’t taking this seriously, further enraging people.

Sweeping it under the rug then rubbed everyone the wrong way.

Done well, I think “jiggle-physics” actually call less attention the chest, as it doesn’t look unnatural. The games that get noticed aren’t implementing it that way, though, so it gets a bad rap.

Because someone in the gamedev community once posted about using achievements to measure engagement with users, it caught on, and now there are actual achievements mixed in with standard progress, including just launching the game, apparently.
