What does it mean by most addicted? And why are Glasgow and Edinburgh right up top?

Hay everywhere - the master is hugely disturbed, my god
The book is called The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, I should have mentioned that before!
And it’s followed by Fear and Loathing in America: The Brutal Odyssey of an Outlaw Journalist
His books of letters from that time are well worth reading if you’re interested in that time in his life, very interesting.
Was offered Gemini for the first time this morning after saying Hey Google. Turned it down, as not sure if I can try it but then still go back when Gemini turns out to be crap.
EDIT - answering my own question…

Switch back to Google Assistant
You can switch back to using Google Assistant as your primary assistant on your phone in your settings. To do this:
Open your Gemini mobile app.
At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Settings and then Digital assistants from Google.
Tap Google Assistant.
Bear in mind, if you’re switching back to Google Assistant as your primary assistant:
When you say, ‘Hey Google’, or activate your mobile assistant by touch (like when you press and hold the power button), Google Assistant will respond.
If your Web & App Activity is turned on, data from your interactions with Google Assistant will be saved to your Google Account. Learn more about how Google Assistant works with your data.
Data saved in your Gemini Apps activity will not automatically be deleted, but you can review and delete it at any time.
😁
Yes, that’s true. I don’t know why I said “originally”. I guess I meant that its recent popularity can likely be ascribed to TITC. But you’re right, it was a thing before that.
Just for info, in case you don’t know… the phrase “Have you tried turning it off and back on again” is (or at least originally was) a reference to British sitcom, The IT Crowd.
The show follows the IT department of a largish company and whenever anyone has any kind of computer problem of any sort, the advice given is to turn it off and on. Surprisingly this actually works most of the time.
So, I don’t think the OP was trying to annoy you, just make a pop-culture reference that they assumed you would get :-)
Shudder…
No problem, and I’m thrilled to have recommended it to someone who hasn’t read it yet! :-)
The sequel is good, but not as good as the original IMO. The original is magnificent. Devastating at times, but definitely one to read.
It’s a work thing for me, I wouldn’t use it otherwise.
I find it useful for what it’s actually meant for, but they keep trying to force other functionality into it, it’s so frustrating.
Can I throw in Brick by Rian Johnson as a (somewhat) modern noir? Great movie.
Ok, so I know this is about the most obvious suggestion possible on this subject, but if you haven’t, and if you get a chance, read The Handmaid’s Tale and its sequel, The Testaments.
They both have some really fascinating portrayals of women being or becoming complicit in the oppression of other women by a male-dominated system (while still also being oppressed themselves - their complicity is often a way of surviving in that system).
They’re obviously not the be all and end all of the subject, but they really made me think about the kind of people you’re describing, because I have (and still do) often felt the same - how can they do these things to other women?
Agreed, it’s infuriating. As are Skype’s continual efforts to get me to follow interest channels. Why can’t it just be a communications app, and leave it at that? Aaaaarrrggghhh!!!
Was he still a first offender by the 34th count?
Ha, fair point, I hadn’t really thought of it like that.
Be great if the judge issues sentences for each offence, gradually increasing them until the last 4 were 1 year in jail, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years… :-)
They can attract up to 4 years for each charge. However he’s 77, a first offender (officially at least) and it’s a non violent crime. Those alone would make jail unlikely.
He’s also a FPOTUS and a possible future POTUS, who would have to have a Secret Service protection team with him throughout.
So IMO, there’s no way he’ll see a cell. Sadly.
That’s what I thought, but really? Of all the cities in the world, the top two are 50 miles apart in central Scotland?
