It was in my house growing up quite a few times. Granted, my mom is Mexican but my dad was white/American. They both loved that shit.
I completely agree, but I’ve never been able to articulate it this well. Do you have any scary movie recommendations? I’ve got a feeling we have similar taste.
What the hell is that image up top
Project Zomboid!! I love this game. I go through bursts of being addicted to it for a couple of months and then dropping it for several months before picking it back up again. Excited for Build 42!
We had a little basket thingy with books and magazines. Stuff like Calvin & Hobbes, I Spy books, Popular Science magazines, etc.
As a Texan who has no pride in their state at all and is actively making plans to move to a different state, I strongly disagree.
Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
My brother had a string quartet play one of the songs at his wedding. It was so beautiful.
I think the point of these movies are to inform the public of the brutality of war, and how shitty our government can be. It’s purpose is to shine a light on it, which I do think is pretty useful. Otherwise, most of us may not have known about it, and would have a very different/heavily filtered view of our government.
This is the kinda selfless attitude the world needs.
I have so many beautiful memories of playing BioShock. What a game. BioShock 2 was exciting, although not as good as the first one (to me), but very cool that I got to play as a Big Daddy. BioShock Infinite was just great - elements of the base game, but a genuinely fresh story that didn’t feel forced (ahem Bioshock 2…).
All that to say that this hurts to read. BioShock meant/means so much to me. I hate the current state of the gaming industry.
Fantastic game. One of the ones that has stuck with me through the years.
Aside from politics, most things suck. Comedy helps most of us get through it. If you can’t find a reason to laugh at <absurd/sad thing>, all you have is <absurd/sad thing>.
I remember feeling this way about the cut scenes in Dante’s Inferno on Xb360.

Stop this thread, and burn it with fire.
I was diagnosed with Celiac disease about 15 years ago - had the endoscopy and then a couple of years later, had the blood marker test to verify. My reactions to eating gluten have not been consistent, and I don’t know what to make of it. More often than not, I get the diarrhea and bloating. Sometimes I get the nausea, but only once have I thrown up from eating gluten. Sometimes I get nothing at all (not as common, but it happens).
Then there was a period of about 1.5 years where I’d get random swelling in my face (usually in my eyes and lips), and hives. My sinus cavities would often get very swollen and irritated, too. But that suddenly stopped, and is no longer a symptom.
Been to a few different gastroenterologists over the years, and went to an allergy doctor when I was having all the facial swellings. Nobody was able to explain why I have such inconsistent reactions, but they are confident I have Celiac disease.
I instinctually downvoted that. I don’t think you’re a bad person, and this picture is so perfect for this post, but damn. You coulda just let me go on living my life, not knowing this fucking thing existed.
A million dollars today doesn’t go as far as it used to.
Can’t tell if this comment is fucking hilarious or fucking disturbing…
