The app works well enough but was unable to watch anything I downloaded offline on iOS. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix? I downloaded from the App Store, not Test Flight.

God yes. I could not stomach buying this on Epic
This. I used a P1000 for transcoding and eventually switched to a 12th gen Intel chip with integrated UHD 770 graphics. It completely blew me away. Insanely low power draw and barely breaks a sweat transcoding multiple streams. Consider this route over a GPU if you can.
Really cool list. Thank you for sharing!
This guy is a great resource for Home Assistant and other smart home tech. I would start here https://youtu.be/ooFvyudbxNE?si=WzYS1IIyVS5TkmZ9
I absolutely love Zooz. Their customer service is fantastic and products just work, if you can provide proper Z-Wave coverage. If you prefer WiFi, I have several Shelly products behind traditional switches that have been rock solid.
I haven’t had this issue specifically but I’ve noticed when adding color changing bulbs, the color changing ability doesn’t show up in Home Assistant until I change the color in the dashboard of zigbee2mqtt. After that, home assistant recognizes the bulb’s capabilities. What hub do you have?
Do you have Nginx on the same bridge as Overseerr? If you have multiple docker networks, they need to be on the same so they can discover one another. That bridge also needs internet access so you can generate the cert. Hope this helps
I am so eager to be rid of them. I check for fiber in my area weekly. The fact that they can implement a data cap is ridiculous.
All hail the master https://youtu.be/znSu_FuKFW0?si=3zbwqKA6OpIMPc35
To be honest, I don’t do anything super special with my Hue bulbs but after adjusting the transition period, I can barely notice any difference, except that they respond more quickly and consistently on Zigbee2MQTT. Anything in particular you’re curious about?
The Hue motion sensors are great and can run on Zigbee in lieu of the Hue bridge. I just transitioned my setup to Zigbee2MQTT after hearing their future account requirement and am very happy with the results. Same can be said for their light bulbs for that matter. I have multiple Reolink cameras and love them. You get a lot of bang for your buck and I send all the data to an FTP server so no cloud required.
I see quite a few on eBay. I would ask the seller if it has an ESP Wi-Fi chip to be sure it can be flashed
I bought the Govee leak detectors and paired them with a Tasmota flashed Sonoff RF Bridge 433. They’ve already saved me multiple times from leaks that would’ve gotten out of control without me being notified. The Sonoff Bridge can’t be flashed with Tasmota as readily as before but you can probably find a compatible version somewhere
Damn. Account requirements on clothing is a new low. I got my Zigbee hub for $25 so might be worth going that route over replacing 4 bulbs. Happy to help if you have questions!
I’m running Zigbee2MQTT in docker. You could also run HomeBridge docker along side that, eliminating the need for Home Assistant. I still use Home Assistant as my front end but Zigbee is running on a Pi and HomeBridge is on my unraid server. Regardless, look into HomeBridge. It is very powerful for exposing non-HomeKit devices to that platform. I also have multiple Shelly devices and absolutely love them. I just didn’t want to replace my 9 Hue devices needlessly. I’ve been very impressed with the speed of Zigbee2MQTT over the Hue bridge so far.
I use the Sonoff RF Bridge flashed with tasmota https://sonoff.tech/product-document/gateway-and-sensors-doc/rfbridge-doc/. It’s been rock solid. It looks like there are newer versions that can’t be flashed so do some research before buying. For IR, I purchased a Tuya IR Wi-Fi device and replaced the Wi-Fi chip with an ESP-12f flashed with Tasmota. The process isn’t the easiest but I’m happy with the results. This is the device I bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144473686315?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=z4O68KxtR8S&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=aQmoJOvlQJy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY. Range is good but placement is key due to how the IR blasters are positioned. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the FLauncher tip! I like it much more than the default Home Screen
I was planning on using the Full Kiosk app but after buying a tablet that only had Android 12 Lite, I didn’t feel like ponying up double or more for a tablet with the full Android version. I tried to run Full Kiosk anyway, but had stability issues. Running just the Home Assistant app has worked great
He actually patched it already. WOW!!! So happy to have offline transcoded files back after leaving Plex!
