Organized religion.
Nothing comes even remotely close.

Holy shit, came here to say that. Nothing compares to the pain of having a tube inserted in your urethra all the way down to the bladder, and as the tube is turned (it’s a camera) it hits the sides of the bladder and it starts to bleed, and it burns like nothing I’ve felt before.

It’s like C with better syntax and without memory management annoyances. It also comes with a decent standard library and making concurrent programs is a breeze. As a bonus it generates static binaries which, granted, are big but in most cases can be copied to any other Linux workstation and executed directly.
Man, I’m sad 😔.
I knew him personally (we worked for the same company at a point in time, although very different departments). I’m also a heavy vim user.
We once were in the same meeting where the unsuspecting meeting chair was taking nodes in emacs org-mode. Most of other meeting members were not geeks, so nobody knew who Bram was. I said “Bram, look at this, they’re taking notes in emacs just to piss you off”, to which he responded “yeah, and it is horrible…” 😁
Farewell and :wq
Ask around the table who has fast reflexes. Get a $10 bill, scrunch it a bit and put it on the table (a bit like a ball). Ask the person to position their hand some 4 inches above the bill, palm down. Then, position your hand much higher (1.5ft) also face down and bet that person that you can grab that bill before they do.
It’s misleading because of the distance but if you’re just normal fast by the time they react you’ll already have the bill in your hands.
For command line sync to the cloud you can use rclone. It’s FOSS and works with many different cloud providers.
For a constant sync experience you can use insync. It’s closed source and requires a license though, but works reasonably well.
Sorry for the lack of direct links since I’m on the phone.
In fact most countries with names starting with “Democratic” or “People’s” are not democratic at all…a true democratic country does not need to advertise it in its name.
Same goes for human titles like “Honorable” for instance.
Maybe he would be interested in going to space on his starship rocket, launched from his newly designed launch pad (by himself, no less, who needs rules and pesky engineers?)
Mate desktop with i3 as the window manager. Killer lightweight combo and massive boost to productivity.
I have some intelligent and caring friends and it boggles my mind how they still think Musk is a “net positive”. Every day we hear some new example of his recklessness, support of extremist regimes, double standards and generally making the lives of people around him worse.
He probably has but Elon only uses the Tesla standard plug.
If they are so concerned about the privacy and lives of whistleblowers they should implement usernames (and multiple accounts) instead of forcing people to give their cell phone numbers to others.
The use of cell phones in an app supposedly made for dissidents and whistleblowers is the stupidest decision I’ve ever seen.
Don’t freak out (yet) people…
They put aspartame in the “possibly carcinogenic” category which is their least certain one. Also in this category we have… Radio waves (sigh)… Yeah right…
Uhh wait, but Vader is younger than Padme!
