I mean, the message of your meme is calling out people who have these biases. I am not surprised those people jumped to defend them.

I was more of talking about if the program was actually performing as advertised. Guess I could have phrased that better.
I am all for this bs AI bubble popping. Extra points for it being China who did it, since there is a bunch of American propaganda fed about how China is pure evil.
China out here planning to exist for another century while the USA actively crumbles because 5 billionaires want to become trillionaires.

Edit: DISCLAIMER: I do not believe China is the most ethical place in the world. I do believe America is not investing enough in it’s infastructure and people.
Supposedly, it is open source. So, we will find out IF it is very soon.
I would imagine this is them putting political pressure on Trump to uphold his campaign promise. The uniformed will open the app, see that message, and know where to direct their attention.
Especially if Silksong comes out this year. I could see a board memeber pointing at it saying, “IF THAT FLAT GAME CAN MAKE A MORBILLION DOLLARS, WE CAN MAKE ONE SO FAST AND GET SO MUCH MONEY!”
I love how in the article they are presenting this as “people looking for a tiktok alternative”. Instagram and YT shorts are right there, the people joining this app are either doing it in protest or following the trend that those people started. Most of the people joining probably aren’t going to it because of it’s prior reputation as a stelar app or because they think it will protect their data.

We bouta get space factories before affordable housing.
The big issue is the US trying to ban Tiktok explicity for “national security” without showing the public a shred of evidence. What do you call it when China blocks access to an American app because of “national security”?
Please read the article.
Lawmakers and the White House have justified the crackdown on TikTok by claiming the app’s link to Beijing makes it a national security threat. But supporters of a ban have not offered direct evidence of the Chinese government ever attempting to obtain data from the company, nor any proof that authorities there have ever influenced content on the platform used by 170 million Americans.
No, if you eat their food you “Nut Now”.
This article from 2024 gives a pretty good rundown as to why using this reasoning to ban Tiktok will set a very bad precedent:
If the govt cared about your data privacy, they would create data collection regulations that they could then use to ban tiktok if/when they violate them.
“Too big to fail” = “We cannot give real concequences for bad actions, but we can take a cut after the fact in the form of a weak ass fee.”
But are you diagnosed with microplastics?
