FreeCAD is doing a really substantial rewrite right now to completely revamp their topological naming system, which resolve a meaningful amount of pain points. It may bring it far enough to be a viable option.

Another +1 for GadgetBridge. Looking at their supported devices may also be of interest even if you don’t us GadgetBridge itself.
I didn’t have strong feelings about it, and had extensive experience with LineageOS. I just stuck with what I knew.
It’d probably work faster and more reliably if the worker must answered the question directly.

This is true. Hopefully they will soon sell the 5! I tossed lineageOS on mine, and have felt pleased with it.
They sell an official version with US antennas through Murena!
The FP4 (sold by Murena in the US) has a decent spread of bands, and works pretty well. Feel free to PM me if you want more detail.

To add another point, a few other differences: -Additive manufacturing (3d printing) can produce some shapes which are not possible using injection molding -Injection molding currently has access to a wider variety of materials due to its maturity (pelletized raw material)
Also consider looking into Gadgetbridge and the list of devices it supports!
While I know it’s not convenient, have you considered… telling them?
