Perhaps Valheim is a better comparison?
I feel like I got my money’s worth out of it, and I still continue to enjoy it, but plenty of people are really salty about the rate at which it’s being finished. And understandably so; it’s been years since it entered early access.
That sure is a lot of sci-fi/horror/80s retro/samurai games!
But seriously, I’m amazed at the quality indie devs are putting out these days. I don’t even bother looking at most AAA releases anymore.
It was tricky to drive, but much easier unmodded. It also just shredded that particular race, which IIRC is the most lucrative in the game
And a stock viper for making money in the normal car race!
Do you have an existing Steam Library? Tons of games are verified on the deck. Anything with controller support is great.
If you haven’t played them: brotato, Hades, and Stardew Valley are all perfect on the deck, off the top of my head
No, I was just being silly.
Loved her in Fawlty Towers
Bit hard to narrow it down… what do you enjoy? And have you played much from that era?
Just off the top of my head… simcity 2000, Ultima 4,5,6,7, the quest for glory series, civilization 1 and 2, fallout 1 and 2, xcom, master of orion… there are a ton of classics that are still worth playing.
For something perhaps a little less popular, maybe try Tex Murphy?
Edit: oh, I just remembered Commandos! if you’re a masochist, anyway. That game is hard as balls. Fun, though.
And even though I can’t explain it, I already know how great it is…
Because of Barbie dolls, I used to believe that girls didn’t have nipples
It’s a great game until you get sick of the characters twitching and emoting every 2 seconds while they talk!
Have you played I Am Setsuna yet? Sounds like something you might enjoy.
There’s also Old Time Hockey. Looks like a lot of fun, although I’ve never tried it
Super Mario Odyssey - 1 UP Girl is a phenomenal song, and the rest of the soundtrack rocks as well. Bonus points for every track having an 8-bit version
Final Fantasy IV - My first SNES game. I still have that entire OST burned into my mind. The first time I heard the full orchestral version of the FF theme (I had played FF1 previously) blew me away
Outer Wilds - Better when heard in-game. I still tear up hearing certain pieces
Mega Man X2 - SNES era Capcom music at its best
The Great Ace Attorney - Really the whole series, but I think this one is my favourite. Capcom has great composers. The theme at 221 Baker Street is the coziest music
Seconding Outer Wilds, although the soundtrack is much better in context
In the expansion, I accidentally discovered what happens when you put your lantern down and walk away… That one was easily the biggest suprise out of the whole experience!
