I archived this cancerous bloated paywalled shit show of a website just on principle

If I had fewer scruples, I’d find out who the construction contracts for new prisons go to and invest all in. This guy is gonna get in and imprison a whole lot of people. Like a lot a lot.
The comments are pretty much all with you save one person. If I were you, I’d calmly walk away with that satisfaction before you get baited into a comment that “proves” you are what has been said of you.
(Note that “proves” is in quotation marks there.)
Are you asserting that nobody should ever have any preferences? Do you meet your own standard?
OP didn’t say he’s throwing women out of bed for having piercings. He expressed a preference for them not to.
I prefer dark hair. Sometimes it’s red or blonde or blue.
I prefer pubic hair. Sometimes it’s there, sometimes it’s not.
I prefer a few extra pounds. Sometimes those pounds aren’t there. Sometimes a few extra is more like a lot extra.
In no example above did I shut down the interaction, nor did I experience any less pleasure.
But I still have preferences. That’s all they are though.
I prefer my trans sister to be twisted
Usury was indeed the term that immediately came to mind.
I would agree, but it’s not my life, not my money. You can’t really go around telling people they fucked up every time you see it.
Most of the math I do at work is related to compound interest. Of all the math I believe the general public should understand, the concept of how paying interest to others is a total screw would get my top vote.
I have a co-worker who took out a car loan last week at, wait for it, FIFTY THREE PERCENT INTEREST! No concept of what that was costing her. She could only see, “I can afford the monthly payment.”
(1 + r)^n and its friend 1/(1 + r)^n have been the two most important concepts in work and personal life that I’ve ever learned and applied.
I know several of those. One I don’t see listed is stuff made here. If you’re a fan of backyard scientist, you’re gonna love stuff made here.
Smarter everyday is really a special one. The way that guy involves his kids and his own boyish excitement when he finally gets an experiment right is downright heartwarming. Then there was the whole episode checking in on physics girl. He had no particular incentive to do that. He just really seems to care.
It’s just a thought exercise. There are several reputable YouTube videos on this topic. None of them claim that the speed of light isn’t the speed of light. They’re just demonstrating that we can’t prove it with current technology. Similar to the difficulty it took to finally prove that one plus one equals two. We know that’s correct, but it took years to prove it.
Maybe they’d be less antagonistic if the prices were metric
No duck and cover for this Xer, but we did a shiton of stop, drop, and roll. Spontaneous combustion was apparently a big deal in my childhood.
I’ve found myself repatronizing half priced books lately. I’ve gone through five books since mid May.
I was a voracious reader before mobile devices existed.
I’d forgotten just how much more satisfying it is to let yourself go in a good story rather than bicker about minutiae with countless strangers all day every day.
(Sidenote: I’ve been looking up reviews for the books I’ve read and am surprised to find indignation at sexual scenes in novels. Like, if you’ve ever read a John Irving novel in your life, and you’re surprised and offended that the next one has sex in it, you should maybe reconsider your chosen career path)
I just took a charter flight that didn’t involve going through TSA or the airport terminal.
Whatever happened on the flight itself was irrelevant as the sheer pleasure of getting on a plane without the standard anal probe far outweighed all other aspects of the journey.
I call LinkedIn occupational hubris
I come from a big accounting firm, so most of what I see are former colleagues who’ve made partner posting about occupational efficiencies and how much financial gain they accomplish.
Some of them are complete blithering idiots who’ve failed upwards and now think they’re geniuses
Others are just complete psychopaths who would gladly shiv their own mothers in the neck for a fraction of a step up the ladder. Hell, they would boast about doing so.
The latter facilitates and nurtures a toxic culture of stabbing your coworkers in the back at every possible opportunity for your own gain wherein saying anything good about a coworker, especially a subordinate, is a sign of weakness and considered sinful.
But on LinkedIn, they’re all the heroes of their own narratives.
I personally pronounce it fahrenheit
Every once in a blue moon, I will slam my left foot into an empty space on the floor.
The brake is a right foot pedal, and I’m not sure what models others are speaking of when they say automatic brake pedals are wider. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that.
I think it’s been over twenty years since I’ve driven a manual transmission. I wonder if I could still do it. In my younger years when such cars were still common, it was second nature, but here 'murca, it’s tough to even find one if you want one anymore.
The subject in and of itself is just exhausting
I don’t know why we’re even remotely concerned with some businessmen, well respected in their communities, conducting perfectly reasonable financial transactions when just last week, I saw a BROWN person in an orange grove, taking all the jobs from “the blacks” and forcing them into poverty!
Heavy /s though with use of actual sound bites from our burgeoning overlords.
