Flintlock: Siege of Dawn grabs attention with its mixture of black powder guns, magic, knights and Gods. There’s a solid foundation here for a far better sequel, if we ever get to see it.
Checked it on my last day of Game Pass so only played a couple hours and it was pretty meh. The stuttering on a high end pc was terrible and the gameplay was bland and generic, the lack of heavy attacks and the pistol as a parry mechanic totally breaks the flow of the combat and makes it very simplistic. The movement, particularly jumping felt very floaty.
It did it although I never used it that way more like to slow down enemies or gaining time. In Bloodborne it didn’t felt weird at all but here it somehow breaks the flow of combat.

Doesn’t Bloodborne use a pistol as a parry mechanic?
Yes it does, but I imagine not all pistol parries are created equal
