Only recently did Sweden change rules that had every newborn be automatically registered with the Swedish church. The majority that are registered probably never practice, nor think about or visit a church, ever, in their lives, except maybe when they get married. If you exit the church, you loose the right to have your marriage and funeral in a church. Pretty sure the 37.9% is misleading in that regard.
I bet. It is just a low end number. Also I am pretty confident I am still officially a member of my childhood church. Never told them to take me off the rolls.
