This isn’t Dungeons & Dragons, it’s poor bastards on both sides. They might as well call them rats; their intention is to dehumanise. Most of the mines are likely defensive and were laid by Ukraine anyway.
Well, yeah. That doesn’t mean I support the invasion. But the human cost isn’t negated by the politics of the leadership, is it. They aren’t orcs, they’re humans - poor, young, and conscripted. Why people take pleasure from a teenager bleeding out while he calls for his mother just because he’s on the wrong side, I will never understand. Unless he’s literally just been firing at you, there’s really no excuse for that kind of inhumanity.
