      Sad? Yes and no if you ask me. Sure, it is a shame that 3th party apps got killed and people are leaving Reddit. On the other hand, people join Lemmy and 3th party apps can switch to a new platform if they want to. The only loser is Reddit.

        1nd party apps suck. 2st party apps are fobidden. 3th party apps are priced out. Maybe 4rd party apps will prevail!

      I would say, it’s less sad and more liberating to be honest with you. I’ll certainly continue to use Reddit in the long term, but it will be much more in frequently than it was in the past. Moving forward I think this is going to be the primary place where I spend my time. It’ll be cool to see it grow from what it was just a month ago.

      More like 🤚 we don’t want to be bombarded with what will be left of Reddit. Be bots and trolls. Maybe a few good people but I hope we keep up the vetting wall and not just letting people mass sign up.
