This has the worst camera I have had on a phone. The front camera claims to be 16MP, and it may as well be a potato. It was a $400 phone. Surely there is a similar phone spec wise that has a better camera? I take photos of cannabis flowers and plants, and they almost always look muddled.

Camera hardware on this is better than the S7, actually, but the S7 has OIS, which I assume is where it’s compensating. Phones are actually terrible image taking platforms form a stability point-of-view, so you’re likely having camera shake issues.

pixel 7a I have heard good things and appreciate the recommendation. It’s not in the budget, as heating season is just starting here.

A guarantee you it takes way better pictures. Probably won’t have a good battery life tho. Megapixels is by far from everything. Google has the best post processing for pictures on phones.

What are you mainly viewing the plant pictures on? You might want to consider a dedicated camera as well, if blowing them up is your main concern.

My phone is great with a 2 day battery life. I can easily get 2-3 more years out of it. It is cheaper to buy a 1080p digital camera, which are under $150 every day.

I didnt care about the camera since i am blind, but i found the moto one 5g ace to be a pretty good phone until my charging port died.

Why even put 48MP on a sensor this small in the first place, that’s what I want to know

Does it downsample to 12MP maybe? Do you have the option to do either 12 like that, or 48 native? If so, how’s the difference, if there even is a noticeable one?
