Ok. Well muddying successful I guess. I had just seen this on signs / bumper stickers. Sounds like the subtext is readily apparent in the Lemmy hypersocialist microcosm, but doubt I’m the only one (I mean look at the stats, it’s still minority that view this as red flag) that didn’t know a seemingly positive inclusive phrase apparently has a negative connotation.

Keep the downvotes coming - God only knows why, but I eat them for breakfast.

The phrase “all lives matter” was intentional misleading, like many of the talking points created and spread by right wingers trying to punch down minorities.

Up here in Canada they are currently doing it with “save our kids” while they are pushing laws to limit LGBT education in schools.

It’s a lot of work staying on top of all the phrases right wing people are using against minorities 😞

I see it more as the left consistently being horseshit at coming up with slogans. If you have to put an asterisk on it then find a better one

The right really isn’t any better. It sucks, but pretty much every slogan nowadays ditches accuracy to roll off the tongue better.

There doesn’t need to be an asterisk though. It’s only a reminder to those who can’t read.

“Black lives matter” isn’t “only black lives matter”, it was only meant as a reminder that black lives matter. Black people have always been killed more often by cops, and it’s often brushed off like it doesn’t matter. The black lives matter movement was meant to be a reminder that black lives also matter…
