Honestly, they are typically better. There are some mass sale groups that become a tad better but those largely became overpriced. When you go to a garage sale and offer half-price on things you end up getting a lot of yes’s or counters closer to the true value rather than what they hope they’ll get.

Yeah yard sales are where you can really haggle. Most of the time the owners just want it gone, getting a few bucks in return is a bonus.
Definitely better, you can actually inspect the thing and see its real condition - also no pressure, you can easily walk away.
