  • I agree.

My current samsung s10e phone (comparatively small by today’s standards) is too big. My last phone was actually a decent size, but had some hardware issues which is why I upgraded. It was a sony xperia xz1 compact. Before that I had a moto g, and before that a Motorola razr. All better sizes than my current model.

My next phone will likely either be a linux phone, or if those are still not ready then I may forgo convention/convenience and go for some kind of downgraded phone or no phone if I could swing it somehow…

  • The Deck Trap is sweeet! Who would hate on something like that, it’s so cool! I also like it a lot that they have a custom briefcase cutout for everything. It’s so covert, and nerdy at the same time. Excellent organization.

EmuReady sounds awesome! I’ll definitely be using that in the future, hopefully it will be a good resource for my Odin 2 Max!

I’ve never played the Animal Crossing games, but I know they are cult classics. I love seeing all these decompilation projects!

Your next interview is giving me darknet diaries vibes, sounds like it has potential to be very interesting.

I’ve mostly (still) been playing Skyward Sword HD lately. It’s pretty fun, but also starting to become a drudge. I kind of wish that the motion controls (even the fixed hd version) were just regular controls with normal camera movement instead of having to hold a modifier button.

I think I might give either Windwaker or Twilight Princess a try next and see how that goes. Though, I’ll have to see if I can get the action replay codes to work for fixing the camera controls if I decide to play the gamecube versions… Wii U emulation on Android just isn’t quite there yet, and I haven’t taken the time to fully check out Rocknix yet.

  • Yes, I have the built in recorder. That’s not really what I’m asking for though. What I want is essentially something that functions like a screenshot utility, but for video footage.

It would be like how it is on Playstation or something. (Recording is always live in the background, then when you hit the save button the previous 10 minutes or so of footage is saved)

  • I could be wrong, but I think the orange pi neo may have been the first device to feature trackpads (after the steamdeck of course). It hasn’t actually released yet though, and apparently it’s still in testing stages or something. It will be interesting to see how the Zotac develops as more info becomes available.

Love seeing that custom xbox, that thing is sweet! More custom builds and hardware hacks please! :)

I’ve been playing Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze lately. The stage 5 levels are starting to get difficult…

Yeah, I didn’t like the shape/feel of the stock sticks either. I never really had any problems with sick drift or anything, but I also didn’t actually own the system for very long either.

To remedy this, I had actually bought some stick caps from skull & co (per recommendations from people on here actually) and they were quite excellent.

Personally, I didn’t like physically holding the steam deck. In my opinion, it’s much too heavy/bulky and even with a high quality comfort grip It just wasn’t working for me. Ultimately, I ended up going with an Ayn Odin 2 instead and I’ve been enjoying my portable/lounging game time much more now. I do miss the ability to play my steam library though. Even though I can still do this with streaming, I just don’t like streaming games as much. Other than the weight/size/ergonomics, which most people seem to be just fine with, the only other thing I’d mention is that steam’s UI is buggy as hell when you’re browsing around the store. I ended up doing most of my browsing on desktop as a result.

All that being said, you can’t deny the draw of it. Even though it wasn’t for me personally, I still like the system and I’d still recommend it to pretty much anybody. There’s a reason Steam Deck is the champ.

Also, look up retro game corp if you aren’t familiar. He just released a video today called ‘dude, just get a steam deck’
