There are a few surprises and life left and my wife and I really did not want to find out the gender during the ultrasound. However, it had different plans.

Congratulations! It’s early but I hope everything goes well. I’m the father of a 4 month old boy and it has been an adventure already. It has been difficult but, even this early, it has been worth it. Seeing him grow and learn every day has been amazing.

I wish you all the best and hope that everything goes smoothly for your wife’s pregnancy and delivery.

You could also say they are 80-90% sure of the gender, it’s not exactly a coin toss. LGBTQ+ people deserve to exist, have rights, be happy, be accepted, and love who they want to love. But a person seeing a penis on an ultrasound can still be reasonably sure of the gender.

Even that’s a massive overestimate of the trans population. 0.5% of the population identifies as trans.

        That’s a 99.5% chance they’re sure of the gender.

Trans people absolutely deserve the same rights as everyone else and deserve to live as the gender they identify as and receive care for it, but it’s not really common at all.

No you are right I was thinking more broadly of just people who were non hetero as 10-20% is the variance found in all mammalian populations so I didn’t think humans would be any different but that only covers the L the G and the B lol. You are correct that considering OC was making a point specifically about non cis people, the actual certainty about their gender is actually much higher.

Only 0.5% of the population identifies as trans.

They have a 99.5% chance that biological sex and gender match.
