The real, non-meme, question will be if Turkey is obligated to let the fleet through the Bosphorus Strait. The next question will be if Turkey does let them through the strait, will they be allowed back into the Black Sea if Ukraine isn’t able to get Crimea back.
My understanding is that they can leave the Black Sea but they can’t come back until Turkey reopens the Bosphorus.
Isn’t it a bit extreme to assume that the black sea fleet would leave the black sea?
Am I missing something here? Was Sevastopol the only harbor Russia had on the black sea?
the only one capable of repairing these kinds of giant ships apparently. that kind of infrastructure probably takes years to make.
Oh that’s interesting, thanks.
Do you know what they did before they took Crimea in 2014? Maybe there is old infra they can reactivate somewhere?
Edit: Nevermind that question I see there is a more complicated history behind this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partition_Treaty_on_the_Status_and_Conditions_of_the_Black_Sea_Fleet
The memes come in loops.
