Maybe they’ll unintentionally outlaw pollution like when the Republicans accidentally legalized cannabis in 2018
Sadly, all it will take is some CEO to publicly state “I didn’t intend to pollute the environment. I dumped dangerous chemicals into nature because I wanted more money. Yes, I knew my actions would modify the weather, as this legislation states. But that was not my express purpose. My purpose was to be able to afford my 17th yacht so my peers would accept me.”

Considering that trump is taking away tax credits for solar and wind and is increasing leasing and tax credits for oil, gas, and coal industries I don’t think this bill will provide much benefit for the climate

She’ll be re-elected because her district is very white, very rural, and very disinformed by sources like Fox News, Newsmax, and conservative AM talk radio. On the rare occasions that the democrats bother to run someone in her district they tend to get less than 30% of the vote. And, if there were ever a danger that the seat might be close, the borders would be adjusted to ensure it stays safely Republican.

While geoengineering isn’t really something that has been tried yet, it’s actual purpose if done would be to address climate change. Albiet, not really prevention but more in a canceling out some of the symptoms sense.
Geoengineering is a field dedicated to exactly that - mitigating climate change by modifying solar input and so forth.
Basically, the Republicans have been shooting the environment and now want to ban tourniquets and sutures.
